The Johns Hopkins University competes in Region I, Zone IV. The team participates in shows during the fall and spring semesters. In accordance with the IHSA mission, the intercollegiate program allows students who do not own their own horses to compete, representing their universities. The available classes range from beginner walk/trot to Open Division. Students ride horses that are provided by the host college and chosen by drawing lots, and schooling is not permitted. The IHSA follows these guidelines to equalize variables of the competition and test the horsemanship of the contestants.
