The Equestrian Club was founded in the fall of 2009 by Maya Jabbour ('13) and Amy Lee ('10). The creation of the competitive team was spearheaded by Courtney Whitelock ('15) in the spring of 2012 to fulfill the desires of members who wished to compete while at college. The team has continued to thrive and provide members unique learning experiences, as well as providing an opportunity to escape the demands of academics.
The team is comprised of a diverse group of students with a wide range of equestrian backgrounds, including beginners and advanced riders. In the classroom, our riders' passions include civil engineering, physics, neuroscience, archaeology, and much more. Our riders are also active in other clubs, and can be found in various leadership positions on campus.
Once a semester, the team hosts an event where members of the general Johns Hopkins community may meet our riders.
